Weather4Me now has its own Mastodon instance at mastobots.wx4.me.
You can follow @Wx4Me@mastobots.wx4.me for service advisories and messages, @Wx4Me_Demo@mastobots.wx4.me for a feed of all tornado and severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for the United States, and @Tornado_Emergency@mastobots.wx4.me for notifications when the National Weather Service declares a tornado emergency anywhere in the US.
We will soon debut the Metabot — a program that will break out weather warnings to individual accounts on the Mastodon instance. Users can then follow accounts for only the areas they care about. These accounts are named by the location they cover.
For example, if you wish to only get warnings for Hamilton County, Ohio, you can simply follow @HamiltonOH@mastobots.wx4.me and you will only see warnings for that location in your home timeline. You can boost these toots and your followers will also see them. However, all bot toots are unlisted so they do not clutter up everyone's federated timelines. A list of all Metabot accounts is coming soon.
Our standard disclaimer applies to all toots sent from this service.
